Governor XI Clinch Thrilling Victory to Reach Semi-Finals of CM Balochistan Gold Cup 2025

Quetta, September 13: Governor XI booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2nd All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup Cricket Tournament 2025 after edging out ICA Peshawar by just 4 runs in a nail-biting quarter-final clash at Bugti Stadium. The tournament is organized by the Balochistan Sports Department under the supervision of Quetta Region Cricket Association.

Winning the toss, Governor XI opted to bat first and set a formidable target of 227 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Key contributions came from Mohammad Ibrahim (68), Aitezaz (47) and Mohammad Akbar (46). For ICA Peshawar, Mohammad Irfan picked up 3 wickets while Ubaid claimed 2.

Chasing the target, ICA Peshawar fought hard and came close but were restricted to 223 runs. Uzair stood out with a brilliant 101-run knock, supported by Saqib Jameel’s 51. Governor XI’s Tariq grabbed 2 wickets to help seal the thrilling win. For his outstanding performance, Mohammad Ibrahim was declared Man of the Match.

The second semi-final of the tournament will be played today, Saturday, September 13, at Bugti Stadium between Governor XI and Larkana XI.
