The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, Chairman PARC, who showcased the council’s initiatives in genomics, biotechnology, livestock improvement, agricultural engineering, and value chain development. He stressed that food security challenges—driven by climate change, population growth, and resource depletion—demand science-led innovation and global partnerships. “Collaboration with China opens new doors for sustainable agricultural practices,” he said, thanking Beijing for its continued support.

Federal Secretary Amir Muhyuddin underlined the importance of innovation and international cooperation to modernize Pakistan’s agriculture. “The challenges of climate change, water scarcity, and soil degradation require science-driven solutions. China offers a historic opportunity to help us address them,” he noted.

Leading the delegation, Mr. Yan Yan, Consultant at MARA, reaffirmed China’s commitment to agricultural collaboration, calling it essential for ensuring food and nutritional security in both countries. He lauded PARC’s research contributions and hospitality.

The visit marks a renewed phase in China-Pakistan agricultural partnership, with innovation, technology transfer, and joint ventures forming the foundation of future collaboration. The proposed Centre of Excellence at NARC is expected to serve as a flagship initiative, strengthening food.
