ANF Intensifies Nationwide Crackdown, Seizes 115 Kgs of Drugs Worth Over PKR 12 Crore

Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its fight against drug traffickers, conducting nine operations across the country, arresting eight suspects, and recovering a total of 115 kilograms of narcotics valued at more than PKR 12.45 crore. In a focused effort to curb drug abuse among students, ANF carried out operations near educational areas, recovering 2.4 kgs of hashish near Kamra Road in Attock, 1.2 kg of hashish near Kaak Pul in Islamabad, and 300 grams of ice near Jhang Road in Faisalabad. The arrested suspects confessed to selling drugs to students attending nearby institutions.

In its efforts to intercept drugs being trafficked internationally, ANF recovered 290 Alprazolam tablets, 400 Retrole tablets, 400 Lexotinal tablets, and 150 Valium tablets, weighing a total of 383 grams, from a passenger traveling to Dubai at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. Additionally, a courier parcel bound for Dubai was intercepted in Karachi containing 105,000 Tramadol tablets, 7,500 Xanax tablets, and 17,000 Valium tablets, and the accused involved was arrested.

Efforts to stop the movement of narcotics between provinces also yielded significant results. Near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad, 13.5 kgs of poppy straw were recovered from a bus passenger, while 1.8 kgs of hashish were seized from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of the accused. Domestically, operations near the National Highway in Hyderabad resulted in the recovery of 9.6 kgs of hashish from a passenger, and 86 kgs of heroin were seized near Boston Road in Pishin.

All cases have been registered under the CNS Act – 1997, reflecting Pakistan’s continued zero-tolerance approach toward narcotics. ANF remains vigilant in its nationwide operations to dismantle drug networks, prevent drug abuse, and ensure public safety.
