DADU: Former Sindh Chief Minister and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Liaquat Ali Jatoi strongly criticized the provincial government during a press conference, saying that the law-and-order situation across Sindh has deteriorated to its worst level.

He alleged that police officers buy their postings through bribes, questioning how such officials could ensure peace. “When postings are sold for money, public safety cannot be guaranteed. The government has failed to protect the people and has handed over Dadu district to criminals,” Jatoi remarked.

The GDA leader accused the Sindh government of rampant corruption, claiming that legislators brought in through rigging and Form-47 manipulation are only serving their own interests. “They have no respect for the people. They even lost polling at their own households, yet power has been handed over to such incompetent individuals,” he added.

Declaring Mehar as his political stronghold, Jatoi warned that he would not allow it to fall prey to lawlessness. He demanded the SSP Dadu to restore peace or step down from his post. “The days of accountability for the rulers are not far. When it begins, they will not be able to hide and will be answerable for every action,” he said.

Liaquat Jatoi further accused PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of destroying Sindh. He said irrigation funds worth millions were embezzled, leaving embankments unrepaired even after the 2010 floods. “If Benazir Bhutto were alive, these corrupt representatives could never have emerged,” he stressed.

He urged GDA workers to actively participate in all protests and rallies under the party’s flag, reaffirming loyalty to Pir Pagara’s leadership.

Jatoi also criticized misuse of municipal budgets, claiming they were being spent on officials’ lavish homes instead of development projects. “Roads and streets in Dadu district remain in terrible condition. Today’s elected representatives, who once used to sit with us, are now building bungalows through corruption while siding with criminals instead of the people,” he alleged.

Prominent GDA figures including Dr. Ghulam Abbas Mahesar, Oshaq Janwari, and Noor Jatoi were also present at the press conference.
