Call on the Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani by Officers of 38th Senior Management Course (SMC) – National Institute of Public Affairs (NIPA)
Islamabad, 29 September 2025 – Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani emphasized the vital role of the civil service in ensuring the continuity, efficiency, and integrity of the state. He recognized senior civil servants as key drivers of public policy implementation and institutional development. He was addressing the officers of the 38th Senior Management Course (SMC) from the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) during their study tour to Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Drawing on his experience as former Prime Minister, Mr. Gilani highlighted efforts to modernize governance through E-Governance and AI tools in parliamentary processes. He commended the civil service’s response during recent floods, especially in South Punjab, stressing the need for resilient, service-oriented governance, particularly in the face of growing climate challenges.
He urged the participants to embrace values of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, and to align their work with national development goals. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where the Acting President reaffirmed Parliament’s support for reform-oriented and efficient public service.
