Quetta, Sep. 29,
Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, voiced support for reviewing the Mines and Minerals Act and proposed that the resolution be turned into a joint measure with government members for approval.
Addressing the Assembly, the Chief Minister acknowledged that mistakes could occur but stressed that consultation and consensus would help address all concerns. He revealed that discussions on the Act had already taken place in the Assembly’s standing committee as well as at the Chief Minister’s House.
Bugti assured lawmakers that the revised Act would be brought back to the Assembly only after resolving political and legal concerns through dialogue and consensus.
