Quetta, September 29 : Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed all provincial departments to ensure the completion of approved Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) schemes by January, stressing that the benefits of welfare projects must reach the common man without delay.
Presiding over a high-level review meeting at the Chief Minister Secretariat, CM Bugti expressed satisfaction over departments showing progress but warned underperforming institutions of strict consequences. He emphasized that timely execution and quality monitoring of all development projects will be ensured through the Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT).
> “Every penny of public funds is a trust, and substandard or incomplete projects will not be tolerated,” Bugti said, instructing CMIT to conduct detailed field visits starting from his own constituency in Baiker.
During the briefing, officials informed the meeting that the Green Bus Project expansion was progressing rapidly and new buses would arrive at Karachi Port by mid-October. The CM ordered that both Green and Pink Bus Services be launched in October, highlighting that women-specific “Pink Buses” would soon be operational to provide safe, modern transport facilities.
He also announced an initiative to provide electric bikes on easy installments for working women, aimed at enhancing their mobility and economic independence.
Highlighting the government’s priorities, Bugti directed that all proposed schemes for the upcoming budget must secure technical approval by May to avoid delays in inclusion. He further instructed CMIT to hold officers and contractors accountable for negligence, warning that misuse of public resources will be dealt with strictly.
> “Our top priority is to ease the hardships of the common man. All departments must make public service their mission and perform their duties responsibly,” the Chief Minister reiterated.
