Karachi, 29 September 2025 (Press Release): — Sindh Provincial Minister for Planning, Development, and Irrigation, Jam Khan Shoro, has criticized the federal government’s interference in provincial affairs, reaffirming that timely completion of Sindh development projects is his foremost priority.

During a press briefing at the Sindh Secretariat alongside P&D Chairman Najam Shah, Shoro revealed that over 3,600 development schemes are ongoing across Sindh, with Karachi alone seeing PKR 400 billion invested in crucial water supply projects.

Shoro condemned federal intrusion into provincial projects, stating: “Provincial initiatives are the responsibility of Sindh government; federal meddling delays progress and escalates costs.” He specifically highlighted the K-IV water supply project, where federal political interference pushed the project cost from PKR 27 billion to PKR 200 billion.

On urban development, Shoro emphasized that Karachi cannot resolve its transport crisis without large-scale mass transit projects, adding that the provincial government is expanding metro and circular railway initiatives to improve city-wide mobility and ensure infrastructure projects meet public needs efficiently.

Shoro’s statement underscores the Sindh government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and timely execution of provincial development projects, while resisting unnecessary federal intervention that threatens the province’s growth priorities.
