Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that Pakistan and Uzbekistan are tied through shared faith, history, and culture. He emphasized that vibrant parliamentary diplomacy is essential for regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

The NA Speaker invited Uzbekistan to benefit from Pakistan’s strategic location and access to Gwadar and Karachi ports, which can connect Uzbekistan to global markets. He also congratulated the Uzbek leadership on the successful organization of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference. He underscored that Pakistan, despite being among the least contributors to climate change, is one of the worst-affected countries, and called for joint regional efforts to address environmental challenges.

Condemning Indian atrocities in Kashmir and Israeli aggression in Gaza, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed that lasting peace is impossible without a just resolution of the Kashmir and Palestine disputes. He stated that Pakistan gave a firm and balanced response to recent Indian aggression, and the ceasefire was eventually reached on India’s request. He credited the unity of the nation and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces for this diplomatic and defense success.

In his remarks, Uzbek Speaker Nuriddin Ismoilov expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and praised Pakistan’s leadership in promoting parliamentary diplomacy. He noted that both Pakistan and Uzbekistan have suffered from terrorism and can learn from each other’s counterterrorism experiences. He appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic stance during recent tensions with India, describing its response as balanced and admirable.

Mr. Ismoilov stressed the need for a joint strategy to tackle climate change and lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Uzbekistan as a milestone in bilateral ties. He reaffirmed that Pakistan and Uzbekistan’s relations are based on brotherhood, trust, and shared interests, adding that closer parliamentary links will naturally strengthen people-to-people relations.

The delegation also toured various parts of Parliament House, inscribed remarks in the official guestbook, and exchanged souvenirs at the conclusion of the visit.
