KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Haider Shah chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming National Games, scheduled to be held in Karachi from December 6 to 13, 2025.

 

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Karachi, Additional IG Karachi, Secretary Sports, and representatives of the Sindh Olympic Association.

 

Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah announced that more than 9,000 athletes will participate in 32 different sports disciplines across 23 venues in Karachi. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the National Stadium, Karachi.

 

He directed the Department of Culture to organize cultural activities across the city during the games, while Commissioner Karachi and Municipal Commissioner were tasked with overseeing illumination, publicity, and branding arrangements. The Additional IG Karachi was instructed to ensure foolproof security for the mega event.

 

Highlighting the government’s commitment, the Chief Secretary said that the Sindh government has already allocated Rs. 500 million for the games, and additional funds will be provided to ensure the successful hosting of the 35th National Games.
