Balochistan Government Reviews Key Development Projects in Turbat and Kech to Improve Health, Education, and Infrastructure
Turbat, September 30, 2025 – Former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, and Additional Chief Secretary Development conducted a detailed inspection of ongoing development projects in Turbat and the Kech district. The delegation was accompanied by Secretary Communications and Works, Secretary Health, and provincial assembly members.
The inspection included the Makran Medical College and a 200-bed under-construction Teaching Hospital, which is being completed at a cost of PKR 322 crore. Upon completion, the facility will provide modern healthcare services to the local population.
The delegation also visited the Turbat Teaching Hospital to review the accident & emergency, ICU, and pharmacy centers. Hospital administration highlighted the urgent need for additional funding for medicines, oxygen plants, and dialysis facilities, which the Health Minister assured will be addressed promptly.
Faculty members of Makran Medical College met the delegation to request regularization of contract-based faculty, and officials assured that practical steps will be taken to resolve their concerns. The team also visited the under-construction High Court Circuit Bench and the Department of Industries offices to assess progress and receive detailed briefings.
Kech District Development Meeting
A high-level meeting at the Commissioner’s Office, Makran, reviewed ongoing projects in Kech. The Bulehda Town Project, consisting of a 50-bed Shaheed Ghulam Farooq Memorial Hospital, Shaheed Ayub Model High School, internal road construction, and other infrastructure projects, is under phased execution with PKR 297 million allocated for Phase 1 and PKR 1.5 billion for Phase 2. Provincial authorities emphasized timely completion by 2027.
The Turbat City Development Project, currently in Phase 2 with a budget of PKR 626 crore, focuses on road expansion and upgrading healthcare facilities at the Civil Hospital. Officials highlighted the allocation of additional funds and compensation for affected residents.
The FW0 Turbat-Mand Road Project, costing PKR 1.765 billion, aims to reduce travel time between Turbat and Mand to just two hours, significantly improving regional connectivity. Provincial authorities stressed transparency in project execution and prioritized timely completion.
Officials underlined that these projects are part of Balochistan’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare, education, and infrastructure, ensuring sustainable development, and improving the quality of life for the province’s residents.
