Islamabad Police Initiatives: Motorcycle Safety, Community Policing, and Increased Licensing Facilities

Islamabad (Press Release) – Islamabad Police has undertaken multiple significant initiatives to ensure citizen safety and promote community policing.

Guidelines for Motorcyclists:
Following a three-day awareness campaign, Islamabad Police has begun strict action against lane violations, one-wheeling, riding without helmets, and illegal number plates starting today. Officers are conducting operations across major roads, and violating motorcycles are being impounded. Citizens are urged to install excise-approved number plates, wear helmets, and stay in their lanes to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

Promoting Community Policing and Sports:
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq attended the Islamabad Sports Journalists Association Cricket Tournament as the chief guest. During the event, he met with players and participants, emphasizing that sports can foster positive relations and mutual trust between the police and citizens. DIG Tariq highlighted that community policing is the best guarantee for social harmony and stressed the importance of maintaining friendly relations with citizens and the media.

Increase in License and Learner Permit Issuance:
Islamabad Traffic Police has recorded a 500% increase in driving license and learner permit issuance. Citizens have shown strong confidence by obtaining licenses and learner permits through traffic offices, service centers, and the online e-learner app. A deadline of October 7 has been set for citizens to obtain their licenses. In addition to the Faizabad Head Office, F-6 service centers, and 13 police stations, traffic police service vans are also providing licensing facilities in different areas. CTO Captain R Hamza Humayun urged citizens to obtain their licenses promptly and demonstrate responsible citizenship.

Islamabad Police stated that these measures aim to ensure citizen safety, provide better services, and promote social harmony.
