Skardu: Traffic Week to Commence from October 6, Awareness Campaign and Crackdown Planned

Skardu, October 2, 2025: A high-level meeting chaired by Commissioner Baltistan Division, Kamal Khan, was held at the Commissioner’s Office. The meeting was attended by DIG Baltistan Range, Deputy Commissioner Skardu, Deputy Director Colleges Baltistan, Deputy Director Excise & Taxation, Director General SDA, and other government officials.

It was decided that Traffic Week will be observed in District Skardu starting from October 6, 2025. During this week, awareness sessions will be conducted in educational institutions, while special awareness programs will also be organized by the Excise & Taxation Department Skardu and Traffic Police for long-route drivers.

Furthermore, a special campaign will be launched to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations. Under this drive, action will be taken against vehicles with tinted windows, fake number plates, and fancy lights.
