Quetta, October 3:
The Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) has intensified efforts to boost shrimp farming and coastal development projects through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, with a major PKR 5 billion initiative set to move forward at an accelerated pace.

A high-level review meeting, chaired by BBoIT Vice Chairman Mr. Bilal Khan Kakar, was attended by CEO BBoIT Mr. Qaim Lashari, CEO Balochistan Public Private Partnership Authority Dr. Faisal Khan, and the PPP Unit team.

The meeting discussed ongoing shrimp farming projects in Balochistan’s coastal areas, new investment opportunities, and future planning. A comprehensive strategy was finalized to expedite the implementation of the flagship shrimp farming project.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar said that Balochistan’s 770-kilometer coastline is a “national economic asset.” He added that the sustainable utilization of shrimp farming and other marine resources would create new employment opportunities, boost exports, and directly benefit local communities.

“Our top priority is to provide investors with a transparent, facilitative, and business-friendly environment,” he stated. “We want to transform Balochistan’s coastal belt in line with modern requirements so that it plays a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy.”

He reaffirmed that the provincial government and BBoIT remain committed to providing all necessary support to investors, while ensuring timely completion of projects under the PPP model.
