Rawalpindi, October 5, 2025 — The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has launched an extensive data collection campaign across its Rawalpindi City Circle, covering more than 400,000 consumers.

The initiative aims to enhance ownership verification, billing accuracy, installment facilitation, and ensure timely communication regarding load-shedding and maintenance schedules.

The campaign is being supervised by Superintending Engineer Mohsin Ali Memon, while XEN Shah Nawaz is leading the on-ground implementation in the Westridge Subdivision.

According to details, IESCO field teams in the Westridge, Satellite Town, and City Subdivisions are conducting door-to-door visits to collect consumers’ CNIC numbers and mobile phone details.

The collected data is being uploaded to a centralized digital system, enabling the company to send real-time updates and service notifications directly to registered consumers via SMS.

Speaking on the occasion, XEN Shah Nawaz stated that the door-to-door verification process is being carried out transparently in accordance with the directives of Superintending Engineer Mohsin Ali Memon.

He said IESCO staff members are scanning original CNICs and entering consumer data directly into the central system. Once completed, the database will help eliminate fraudulent meter ownership transfers and prevent property encroachments, as future ownership changes will require verified owner consent.

Shah Nawaz also urged citizens to cooperate with IESCO teams and to verify official ID cards before providing personal information to ensure that unauthorized individuals do not misuse the campaign for illicit purposes.

He further assured consumers that all collected data will remain strictly confidential and will be used solely to enhance services and facilitate consumers.

Experts have lauded the initiative as a major step toward digital transparency and consumer empowerment. The campaign is expected to improve billing accuracy, strengthen communication, and build greater trust between IESCO and its consumers — paving the way for a more efficient and consumer-friendly electricity management system.
