Quetta, October 9, 2025 – Governor of Balochistan, Jafar Khan Mandokhail, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in combating global warming, calling it a “global warning” that demands urgent individual and collective action. Speaking with Chief Minister’s Advisor on Environment, Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhail, at the Governor House in Quetta, he highlighted that rising temperatures, melting glaciers, and extreme weather events pose significant threats to human existence.
Governor Mandokhail urged the adoption of sustainable practices, afforestation, and promotion of eco-friendly technologies to reduce carbon footprints and create a healthier environment. He stressed the moral responsibility to protect the planet for future generations and ensure a sustainable, habitable world.
Following the discussion, the Governor and Advisor Naseem-ur-Rehman participated in the “Green Quetta Dream” tree plantation campaign in front of the Commissioner’s Office, pledging full support to transform Quetta into a green city. They highlighted that Islam encourages tree planting as a form of charity for over 1,400 years and noted that increasing greenery can also boost national productivity.
