Balochistan Investment Opportunities Highlighted at Lok Virsa Panel Discussion

Islamabad, October 12, 2025 — A panel discussion on “Investment Opportunities in Balochistan” was held at Lok Virsa, Islamabad, under the auspices of the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Archaeology, Government of Balochistan.

The event brought together prominent experts from the fields of economy, education, tourism, and business, including Umair Khattak, Prof. Dr. Zainab Bibi, and Qaim Lashari, who shared valuable insights into Balochistan’s immense development and investment potential.

Speakers emphasized the need to build investor confidence, asserting that sustainable growth is impossible without active private-sector participation. They unanimously agreed on promoting Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to accelerate economic progress.

Participants also stressed the establishment of a Tourism Authority and the introduction of comprehensive legislation to regulate and boost tourism in the province. The government was appreciated for allocating Rs. 250 million for coastal development projects, while new initiatives — including the construction of a cricket ground near Gadani Beach — were discussed.

Experts highlighted that Balochistan’s natural resources, coastal beauty, minerals, and culture hold the key to Pakistan’s economic transformation. They further endorsed the government’s “One-Window Operation Program” to facilitate investors, and recommended that the Balochistan Chamber of Commerce be fully engaged in the province’s investment framework.

“Modern governance and legislative reforms can open doors to foreign investment, making Balochistan a new driver of Pakistan’s economy,” concluded the speakers.
