Islamabad / Security sources — 12 October 2025, 08:35: The Pakistan Army launched targeted retaliatory strikes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border following alleged unprovoked firing from the Afghan side. Security sources report that several Afghan posts were hit and destroyed, with casualties and personnel fleeing some positions.

According to security sources, operations overnight and into the morning targeted multiple sites including Bramcha, Duran Mela, Turkmanzai, Manoojba, Durani, Ghaznali, Zhob sectors and other strategic positions. Several posts reportedly caught fire and were reduced to rubble in footage circulated by security channels.

Multiple video clips shared by security sources allegedly show destroyed posts, abandoned weapons and Afghan uniforms, and in some instances, bodies. These clips have not been independently verified.

Sources claim that Pakistani forces seized and hoisted Pakistan’s flag on several captured positions, including areas around Bramcha and Angoor Adda, and destroyed armored vehicles and tank emplacements.

Initial figures provided by security officials indicate that up to 19 Afghan posts have been destroyed or captured; dozens of Taliban fighters and foreign militants are reported killed or have fled. These numbers are preliminary and subject to official confirmation in a formal military briefing.
