Pakistan Army Gives Befitting Response to Afghan Aggression — 23 Soldiers Martyred, Over 200 Enemy Combatants Eliminated: ISPR
Islamabad, 13 October 2025, 06:00 AM —
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s Armed Forces have decisively responded to a series of unprovoked and cowardly attacks launched from across the Afghan border by elements linked to the so-called “Fitna-e-Khawarij” (terror groups operating from Afghan soil).
ISPR confirmed that 23 brave Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom, while 29 others sustained injuries during the fierce clashes that erupted in various border sectors including Chitral, Kurram, Bajaur, Angoor Adda, and Chaman.
In its detailed statement, the ISPR said that based on verified intelligence and post-operation assessments, over 200 terrorists affiliated with the Taliban and associated networks were neutralized. Their 21 positions and strongholds were destroyed through precision artillery strikes and coordinated ground raids.
The military’s media wing emphasized that Pakistan’s actions were purely defensive — aimed at protecting its people and territory from persistent cross-border terrorism. “The Pakistan Army acted with restraint and responsibility, ensuring minimum collateral damage while eliminating the sources of fire,” the statement added.
ISPR further stated that terrorist elements are being harboured and facilitated within Afghanistan, despite repeated assurances from the Kabul administration that Afghan soil will not be used against Pakistan. “Such breaches of commitment are unacceptable,” the statement read.
The ISPR clarified that Pakistan holds no hostility towards the people of Afghanistan, who are considered “brothers in faith and culture,” but warned that the state will defend every inch of its land and respond decisively to any act of aggression.
“Pakistan remains committed to regional peace and stability,” the ISPR concluded, “but if hostile elements continue to use Afghan territory for terrorism, Pakistan reserves the right to take all necessary defensive actions.”
