Chief Inspector of Mines Orders Closure of Unsafe Coal Mines in Mach

Mach, October 14, 2025:
Chief Inspector of Mines Balochistan Syed Rafiullah Shah paid a special visit to Mach, where he inspected various departments of the Mines Office and reviewed activities related to worker safety and operations. He was briefed by Inspector of Mines Mach Qurban Ali Umarani on the department’s performance.

During the visit, the Chief Inspector attended a safety training workshop for coal miners focused on accident prevention and proper use of safety gear. Over 80 workers from multiple coal companies participated. Assistant Mines Inspector Ghulam Qadir Marri, Electric Inspector Muhammad Arif Umarani, and Rescue Crew Member Muhammad Hanif Satakzai assisted in the training.

In his remarks, Rafiullah Shah said such workshops build capacity and save lives. He urged miners to share safety knowledge with colleagues and directed owners that no coal mine shall operate without complete adherence to safety protocols.

He also inspected Maqsood Coal Company and Molabakhsh Coal Company, ordering their immediate closure over inadequate safety measures. The Department of Mines Balochistan reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing strict safety compliance. At the end, Inspector Qurban Ali Umarani presented a commemorative shield to the Chief Inspector in recognition of his services.
