Peshawar, October 14:
Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak, has issued a comprehensive policy statement urging Pakistan and Afghanistan to resolve their border disputes through dialogue, patience, and mutual understanding instead of confrontation.
The seminary’s spokesperson expressed deep concern over recent cross-border clashes, warning that continued hostility would prove dangerous for both nations and the wider region. The statement highlighted that Pakistan has always shown political and moral support to Afghanistan, including assistance during the Soviet and U.S. invasions, natural calamities, and internal crises.
Darul Uloom Haqqania urged Afghanistan to recognize Pakistan’s sacrifices for the Afghan people while advising Pakistani policymakers to avoid measures that could push the Islamic Emirate toward anti-Pakistan elements.
Reaffirming its support for Afghanistan, Kashmir, and Palestine, the seminary stressed its commitment to peace and stability in the Muslim world. It also expressed readiness to collaborate with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Wifaq-ul-Madaris al-Arabia, and other religious organizations under the leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Sheikh-ul-Islam Maulana Muhammad Taqi Usmani to ease regional tensions.
The statement concluded with condolences over the loss of lives on both sides of the border. It was jointly endorsed by Deputy Chancellor Maulana Rashidul Haq Sami, Maulana Muhammad Idrees, Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, Maulana Syed Yousaf Shah, Maulana Luqmanul Haq, Maulana Irfanul Haq, Maulana Osama Sami, Maulana Khuzaima Sami, and other scholars.
