Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized the pivotal role of youth in Pakistan’s future, stating that sustained and meaningful engagement with young people is essential for the country’s progress. He made these remarks while addressing the National Youth Summit 2025 at BUITEMS University, Quetta, and during an interactive session responding to students’ questions.

The Chief Minister warned that anti-Pakistan elements operating from abroad are attempting to influence youth negatively but assured that such efforts would fail, as Pakistan’s foundation rests on truth, sacrifice, and unity. He urged students to prioritize research, reasoning, and truth over popularity, noting that Islamic history demonstrates how widely accepted narratives can sometimes be false.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed the state’s support for the oppressed, citing recent incidents in Musakhel, and underlined the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining law and order. He stressed that no negotiations would be held with anti-state elements, and all major roads in the province remain open to the public.

Addressing youth development, he announced that internet facilities will be provided across all schools, colleges, and universities to connect students with modern education and research opportunities. Where security risks arise, mobile and 4G services may be temporarily suspended. He highlighted the launch of the Youth Enterprise Development Program, which allocates PKR 16 billion to benefit 16,000 young people and provide practical skills training alongside academic education.

On governance and economic reforms, the Chief Minister said the government is establishing Special Economic Zones to attract investment, reforming the Mines and Minerals Act to ensure equitable resource distribution, and taking strict measures against illegal poppy cultivation. He also announced the creation of a Women Protection Force to safeguard women in workplaces and educational institutions.

Speaking on security, Mir Sarfraz Bugti praised the sacrifices of the Pakistani armed forces and condemned separatist leaders operating from Afghanistan. He saluted Field Marshal General Asim Munir and all personnel for their prompt responses to threats along the border.

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister said:

“Balochistan is moving forward on the path of reforms, peace, education, and merit. The determination of our youth, the trust of women, and the unity of the people are the real strength of Balochistan and the foundation of Pakistan.”
