President Zardari Highlights Empowerment and Inclusion of Visually Impaired on World White Cane Day

ISLAMABAD, October 15, 2025:
On World White Cane Day, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the government’s firm commitment to protecting the dignity, independence, and empowerment of visually impaired citizens.

“The white cane is a symbol of courage, confidence, and self-reliance,” said President Zardari, adding that an inclusive and equitable society defines a truly progressive nation.

He noted that the Government of Pakistan is leading efforts to provide facilities and opportunities for persons with disabilities in education, employment, and social participation. “Public institutions and citizens must ensure full inclusion of the visually impaired,” the President stated.

President Zardari praised Pakistani diplomat Saima Saleem as a shining example of determination and excellence at the United Nations, saying, “Her achievements make the entire nation proud.”

Concluding, the President called for collective efforts to build an inclusive Pakistan where no one is left behind, stressing that national progress depends on unity and participation of all.
