CM Sarfraz Bugti Pays Glowing Tribute to Martyrs of Karsaz Tragedy — Reaffirms Commitment to Democracy and Political Tolerance

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy, describing it as one of the darkest and most tragic chapters in Pakistan’s political history.
In his heartfelt message issued on the occasion, CM Bugti said that the martyrs of Karsaz laid down their lives for the supremacy of democracy and the service of the people, and their sacrifices continue to inspire the nation’s democratic spirit.
He added that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s leadership was a symbol of democratic resilience and national unity, and her vision for a strong, inclusive, and democratic Pakistan remains a guiding light for future generations.

The Karsaz tragedy, which took place on October 18, 2007, during the homecoming rally of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, claimed the lives of scores of her supporters and left hundreds injured. The tragic incident stands as a solemn reminder of the struggle for democracy and political freedom in Pakistan.
