Gilgit Sports Week 2025: Jaglot Team Dominates Inter-Tehsil Volleyball, Cricket, and Football Competitions

Gilgit, October 19, 2025 (Independent Report) — The District Education Department of Gilgit successfully organized a vibrant Tehsil-Level Sports Week, featuring thrilling competitions among the three tehsils of Gilgit, Danyor, and Jaglot.

The event’s chief guest was Shah Muhammad, Director of the Gilgit-Baltistan Sports Board, while Deputy Director of Education, Ishtiaq Ahmed, attended as the special host. The competitions included volleyball, cricket, and football, all conducted with high energy and competitive spirit.

The final match of the football tournament was held between Jaglot and Danyor tehsils, where Jaglot delivered an exceptional performance to secure a decisive victory.

Notably, Jaglot won all three events — football, volleyball, and cricket, earning the title of overall champion of Sports Week 2025. The winning team was awarded PKR 200,000 in cash by Shah Muhammad, while the runner-up received PKR 150,000.

The sports week significantly promoted youth engagement, teamwork, and healthy competition among students and has emerged as a shining example of sports development in Gilgit District.

This initiative reflects the district’s commitment to fostering athletic talent and a culture of sportsmanship among young generations.
