Khyber Oct.19(By Aman Ali Shinwari): A grand farewell ceremony was held at Landi Kotal Jirga Hall in honour of retired Headmaster and former Education Officer, Haji Ghafar Shinwari, organized by the Local Teachers Association. The event celebrated his decades-long contribution to education and his dedicated role in promoting learning and nurturing students across the region.
The ceremony was attended by officials of the Education Department, school teachers, students, local elders, and community members from various walks of life.
Speakers paid rich tribute to Haji Ghafar Shinwari’s unwavering commitment to education, his role in shaping students’ character, and his tireless efforts to spread the light of knowledge in the region. They noted that his services for educational development will be remembered for generations, and his dedication and integrity remain a guiding example for young educators.
Addressing the gathering, Haji Bahadur Khan Shinwari said that Ghafar Khan is an education-friendly, peace-loving, and progressive personality whose contributions to society are well known. He praised his balanced, community-oriented, and tradition-conscious approach, calling him a man of service and sincerity in every field of life.
In his heartfelt remarks, Haji Ghafar Khan Shinwari expressed deep gratitude to all participants for their love and respect. He said, “I may have retired from the Education Department, but not from my lifelong mission of serving education. Wherever my services are needed, I will continue to contribute to the field of learning.”
He added that the day was filled with mixed emotions — parting from his beloved institutions yet overwhelmed by the affection and honour shown by friends and students.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, friends, local elders, and students presented him with flower bouquets and garlands, extending best wishes for his future and paying tribute to his lifelong dedication to education and community service.
