Pakistan made serious efforts to establish brotherly relations with neighboring countries; Qaiser Sheikh
CORRESPONDENT, Oct 19 :Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has said that Pakistan had always made serious efforts to establish brotherly relations with its neighboring countries and for lasting peace in the region. We have hosted millions of Afghan refugees over the past forty years, helped them in difficult situations and today, we expect that Afghanistan will also not allow terrorist organizations to use its territory as a good neighbor, he said while talking to the media here Sunday.
The minister said that negotiations were going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan, in which friendly countries Saudi Arabia and Qatar were also playing a mediating role. He expressed the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably under the spirit of mutual understanding and Islamic brotherhood.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that in the present era, Pakistan’s global image has improved more than ever. “In recent days, the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is being seen as a historic development in the Muslim world, which has significantly increased Pakistan’s prestige and confidence”, he said and added that the federal government has announced a major relief package for the flood-affected areas.
The federal minister said that the federal and provincial governments were jointly working on rehabilitation projects, while despite being a developing country, the federal government has allocated significant funds to help the victims. The minister said that Pakistan would remain committed to the principles of humanitarianism, regional cooperation and sustainable development.
