Sino-Pak Fashion Show Builds New Commercial and Cultural Bridges for a Shared Future: Ambassador Khalil Hashmi
A dazzling Pakistan-China Fashion Show held at the historic Badaling Great Wall in Beijing has spotlighted a new era of commercial and cultural collaboration between Pakistan and China. The event, themed around creative fusion and mutual growth, was hailed as a symbol of the deepening partnership between the two nations.
Speaking at the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, said the show represents “new bilateral commercial bridges for a shared future,” emphasizing that Pakistani creativity naturally aligns with the opportunities in the Chinese market. He noted that the event carried special significance, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the first Pakistani dignitary’s visit to the Great Wall of China.
Ambassador Hashmi highlighted that the showcase was powered by fusion, commercial sense, and the strength of Pakistani fashion, demonstrating how the two countries can merge artistic excellence with economic opportunity.
Long Yuxiang, Chairman of the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), described the event as not only a “grand cultural exchange” but also a vivid reflection of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, especially in the areas of culture and people-to-people exchanges.
He added that both countries share a rich historical heritage and a common aspiration for prosperity through fashion and aesthetics. Long reaffirmed his commitment to working with Pakistani partners to explore contemporary expressions of traditional design, create distinctive fashion works, and inject new vitality into Sino-Pak fashion aesthetics.
The event was co-hosted by the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing and the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC).
Renowned Pakistani designers including Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah, and Zain Hashmi presented collections that beautifully blended Pakistani craftsmanship with Chinese elegance. The show also featured a jewelry collection by Aqeel Chaudhary, a China-based Pakistani designer, alongside creations by Ms. Liang Suyun, a celebrated Chinese designer.
Curated by Adnan Ansari of Riwayat, the event attracted senior Chinese officials, diplomats, media professionals, and business leaders — all gathered to celebrate the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China through the universal language of fashion.
