QUETTA, Oct 21: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) continued its crackdown on unhygienic and substandard meat sales across Quetta and nearby areas, inspecting 41 meat shops during a special campaign.

Twenty-two butchers were fined for poor sanitation and unsafe storage, while 10 shops received notices for corrective actions. Six others were penalized for operating without food business licenses.

Inspectors also sealed an illegal unit producing oil from animal waste, confiscating 30 drums on the spot.

Director General Waqar Khurshid Alam said the BFA maintains a zero-tolerance policy against health hazards, urging citizens to report unsafe food production to authorities.
