Peshawar, October 23, 2025: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi expressed deep concern over being denied a meeting with PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, despite clear directives from the Islamabad High Court. He stated that ignoring court orders raises serious questions about the rule of law and justice in the country.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, CM Afridi said his visit was entirely constitutional and aimed at seeking guidance on key governance and policy matters from his party leader. He noted that for the past two years, he had been unable to meet Imran Khan, making this meeting crucial for aligning provincial governance with the PTI chairman’s vision. All legal and administrative requirements were completed prior to the visit, including coordination with Punjab’s Interior Department, the federal government, and the Chief Justice, followed by a formal request to the Islamabad High Court.

CM Afridi reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and its leadership, stating that he is not just the Chief Minister but also a committed PTI worker, and that all instructions from Imran Khan would be implemented word for word. He emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa mandate belongs to Imran Khan, and no cabinet formation will occur without his guidance.

On regional and national matters, the CM highlighted that relations with neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan, should be based on mutual respect and economic cooperation. He added that the provincial government seeks peace, trade, and prosperity in the region, but future decisions about the province should not be made behind closed doors.

Commenting on federal security and development policies, Afridi stated that military operations alone cannot eliminate terrorism, noting that while numerous operations have been conducted, the threat persists. He underscored that Imran Khan’s policies are the only sustainable solution for lasting peace.

On provincial rights, the CM demanded the release of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s financial dues, including the NFC share for former FATA, and around PKR 3,000 billion for merged districts’ development, NFC allocations, and other funds.

Addressing the issue of bulletproof vehicles for the police, Afridi said that vehicles provided by the federal government were outdated and unusable, and that the police deserve modern facilities and respect. He noted that the provincial government had already allocated substantial funds to improve police infrastructure, capacity, and new bulletproof vehicles.

Concluding his remarks, CM Afridi affirmed that he will present the truth before the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and seek justice from the public itself, stressing that real justice comes from the verdict of the people.
