KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Pays Tribute to Martyr Journalist Arshad Sharif on His Third Death Anniversary
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, visited the residence of the late journalist Arshad Sharif in Islamabad on the occasion of his third martyrdom anniversary to pay homage and offer condolences to his family.
During his visit, the Chief Minister met with Arshad Sharif’s mother and wife, offered Fateha for the departed soul, and expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi lauded the late Arshad Sharif’s courage, integrity, and commitment to fearless journalism, stating that “Arshad Sharif’s mission, conviction, and journalistic legacy will forever remain alive in the hearts of the people.”
He further added that “Though Arshad Sharif is no longer among us, he lives on in every heart through his words, truth, and sacrifice.”
Emphasizing the value of purposeful life, the Chief Minister remarked, “One should live such a life that if martyrdom comes, it should be like that of Arshad Sharif — brave, dignified, and for truth.”
The visit reflected the provincial government’s recognition of Arshad Sharif’s invaluable contribution to independent journalism and his ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of truth.
