ANF Launches Nationwide Crackdown Against Drug Traffickers — 11 Arrested, Narcotics Worth Over Rs17.7 Million Seized

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its nationwide campaign against drug traffickers, launching 11 major operations across Pakistan, including in the vicinity of educational institutions. According to the ANF spokesperson, a total of 11 suspects were apprehended and 26.577 kilograms of narcotics worth over Rs17.7 million were seized during the coordinated crackdown.
In operations conducted near colleges and universities, ANF teams recovered 6 kilograms of crystal ice from a vehicle near Sher Shah Toll Plaza, Multan; 1.2 kilograms of hashish from a motorcyclist near a college in Dorraha, Mansehra; 1.262 kilograms of hashish from an accused near a university in Islamabad; and 560 grams of hashish from another suspect near a university in Attock. The arrested individuals confessed to selling narcotics to students of educational institutions.
In separate international interdiction operations, 660 grams of crystal ice were seized from a passenger bound for Sri Lanka at Multan Airport, while at Bacha Khan Airport, Peshawar, 493 grams of ice were recovered from a traveler headed to Doha — including 38 capsules weighing 180 grams extracted from his abdomen and 313 grams concealed in his shoes. At a courier office in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, ANF recovered 135 grams of weed hidden in shoes within a parcel sent from the UK to Attock, and in another case at the same facility, 48 grams of weed were seized from a similar parcel.
During domestic operations, ANF intercepted a vehicle near Behdian Kalan Road, Kasur, recovering 9 kilograms of heroin, a quadcopter, six batteries, two electronic devices, and a charger, arresting two suspects. In another operation at Head Baluki, District Kasur, 4.095 kilograms of heroin and 2.5 kilograms of ice were recovered, and two individuals were taken into custody. Likewise, on Adiyala Road, Rawalpindi, ANF recovered 624 grams of hashish concealed in the shoes of an accused.
The spokesperson stated that all cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, and investigations are underway to dismantle the networks involved in supplying drugs within Pakistan and abroad. He reaffirmed that the ANF remains committed to eliminating drug trafficking from society, particularly around academic environments where young people are most vulnerable.
