BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid Promotes Skill Development, National Heritage During Karachi Visit

Karachi – Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), visited Karachi today, engaging in key initiatives to strengthen national heritage preservation and expand skill development opportunities for beneficiaries.

Senator Khalid attended the 100th meeting of the Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board, chaired by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan. The session addressed the administrative and maintenance affairs of Mazar-e-Quaid, with Senator Khalid emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to preserve Pakistan’s historical legacy and uphold the sanctity of the Father of the Nation’s mausoleum.

Following the meeting, the Chairperson visited the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA), where she met Chairman Junaid Buland to discuss enhanced collaboration between BISP and STEVTA for vocational training and skill development initiatives.

Senator Khalid stated, “Empowering youth through skills is essential for economic growth. BISP is committed to enabling deserving beneficiaries to achieve employment opportunities through vocational training.”
Chairman Buland reaffirmed STEVTA’s support, noting, “We fully back BISP’s mission and will provide all resources to expand skill development and employment avenues for beneficiaries.”

The Chairperson also visited the BISP Regional Office in Karachi, praising officers and staff for their dedication in serving underprivileged women across Sindh. She highlighted that their efforts are not only a national service but also a noble act of compassion, assuring that transparency and accountability remain core BISP principles and any irregularities will be addressed promptly and strictly.

Senator Khalid’s visit underscores BISP’s ongoing commitment to improving livelihoods, promoting employability, and preserving Pakistan’s cultural heritage.
