CJCSC Gen Sahir Shamshad Strengthens Defence Ties During Official Visit to Maldives

Rawalpindi, October 24, 2025:
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), during his official visit to the Maldives, held key meetings with H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of Maldives; H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, Minister of Defence; and Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, Chief of Defence Force of Maldives.

Discussions focused on the evolving global and regional security environment, as well as matters of mutual interest, particularly bilateral defence and security cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening military-to-military engagements and enhancing the strategic partnership between Pakistan and the Maldives.

The Maldivian civil and military leadership appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and paid tribute to their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. Earlier, upon his arrival at the MNDF Headquarters, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent.
