ANF Launches Nationwide Crackdown on Drug Trafficking Near Educational Institutions

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 25:

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its countrywide crackdown against drug trafficking networks, conducting a series of successful operations near educational institutions and across multiple cities. During five separate operations, the ANF arrested six suspects, including two women, and recovered 225 kilograms of narcotics valued at over Rs174 million in the illicit market.

Operations Near Educational Institutions:
Acting on intelligence, ANF teams intercepted a vehicle near Jaranwala Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad, and recovered 500 grams of weed and 200 grams of ice (crystal meth). The driver was arrested and confessed to selling drugs to students of local educational institutions.

Other Major Operations:
In another major action, ANF recovered 33.6 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle near Turkye Toll Plaza, arresting two suspects on the spot.
At Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, two female passengers were taken into custody after 9.6 kilograms of hashish was discovered in their possession.
Similarly, near Hayatabad Toll Plaza Link Road, Peshawar, one suspect was arrested with 1.1 kilograms of opium, while in Shakas, Jamrud, ANF teams seized 180 kilograms of hashish hidden in bushes.

According to the ANF spokesperson, all cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the networks involved.

The ANF reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating drug trafficking across Pakistan, particularly targeting the menace of narcotics supply near educational campuses to protect the country’s youth from addiction.
