Security Audit Conducted at Skardu Jail — Arrangements Found Satisfactory

SKARDU, Oct 26 — Acting on directives from the Home Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, the Deputy Secretary (Police and Prisons) carried out a comprehensive security audit of District Jail Skardu.
The inspection covered barracks, watchtowers, entry and exit points, and other sensitive areas.
During the visit, Superintendent Jail Sabir Hussain Azad briefed the official on the overall security setup, deployment, and alert systems, noting that arrangements were satisfactory though several improvements were suggested.
The Deputy Secretary appreciated the efforts of the jail administration and emphasized the importance of modern equipment, professional training, and enhanced monitoring to strengthen prison security
