Islamabad Food Authority Steps Up Efforts to Ensure Supply of Pure Milk — Meeting Held with Milk Association
Independent Report
Islamabad, October 27, 2025
The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has intensified its efforts to ensure the availability of pure and safe milk in the federal capital. Deputy Director IFA, Dr. Tahira Siddiq, chaired an important meeting with the Fresh Milk Association to discuss issues related to milk supply, quality, and adulteration.
During the meeting, Dr. Tahira Siddiq assured the association of full cooperation and immediate resolution of their legitimate concerns. She also provided written guidelines in Urdu to facilitate better compliance with food safety regulations.
Representatives of the Milk Association appreciated IFA’s ongoing actions against the adulteration mafia and reaffirmed their commitment to following all food safety laws and supplying high-quality milk to the citizens.
Dr. Tahira Siddiq emphasized that the health and safety of citizens remain the top priority of the Food Authority, adding that strict action — including heavy fines, closure of businesses, registration of cases, and license cancellations — will be taken against those found violating the law.
While IFA’s efforts are commendable and very useful, the reality remains that in Islamabad, it is still extremely difficult to find pure milk. The widespread use of injections and medicines to increase milk production in animals continues to pose a serious challenge to ensuring truly natural and safe milk for consumers.
