GOC 44 SSD Visits Historic Omani Fort in Gwadar; Praises GDA’s Heritage Conservation Work

Major General Habib Nawaz, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 44 Special Security Division, Pakistan Army, visited the historic Omani Fort in Gwadar along with Director General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan.

During the visit, Major General Nawaz reviewed restoration work being carried out by GDA and lauded efforts to preserve the city’s cultural and historical heritage.
DG GDA briefed the delegation that under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan, the Authority is not only developing modern infrastructure but also implementing a comprehensive heritage preservation program, including the Omani Fort, Charpadgo, Telegraph Office, Omani Watch Tower, and Portuguese Watch Tower.
He added that these projects aim to safeguard Gwadar’s historical identity for future generations while enhancing its tourism potential and urban beauty.
