ISLAMABAD, Nov 03 :President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday lauded the security forces for successfully thwarting terrorist infiltration attempts and conducting decisive operations against the India-backed militant group Fitna al-Khawarij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
President Zardari paid rich tribute to the security forces for their timely and effective action, describing their success as vital for Pakistan’s peace and stability, a statement from the presidency said.
“Defeating the Indian-backed Fitna al-Khawarij is essential for the country’s security and stability,” the President emphasized. He said the entire nation takes pride in its armed forces for foiling the enemy’s nefarious designs.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its defense and sovereignty, the President said that operations under Azm-e-Istehkam would continue until the complete eradication of terrorism. He also prayed for the safety of the nation from all forms of strife and extremism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a separate statement, also paid tribute to the security forces for their successful operations in North Waziristan and Tank districts, where three terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed.
“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our valiant forces in the fight against terrorism under Azm-e-Istehkam,” the PM stated, reaffirming the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms from the country.
