Global social development, the address of the President of Pakistan should be the basis of national and international trust.
Rahmatullah Buriro
The words, ideas and speeches of the world’s national leaders and government officials are their hallmarks. From the meetings of the United Nations to their national assemblies, the expression of their national ideas, where national policies are reflected, also have a global background. From Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, from Benazir Bhutto to Mian Nawaz Sharif, from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s diplomatic visits, where the background was part of national policies, it was also an important message for international institutions and international coalition forces. Similarly, the speech of the country’s President Asif Ali Zardari at the recent conference on global social development in Doha, where it reflected national policy, can also be said to be the basis of international trust. The speech of President Asif Ali Zardari at the “Second World Conference on Social Development” held in Doha holds special significance in the current political and social context of the country. This speech was not only a diplomatic expression, but also a message of Pakistan’s new thinking, confidence and restoration of its international reputation. In his speech, President Zardari said that “real development is not possible without poverty eradication, universal education, youth empowerment and equal human rights.” He emphasized that the center of policies should be “human”, because the main reason for the growing economic and social disparity in the world is the distance from human values. The problems of education, health, employment and water distribution in Pakistan are still the main causes of social instability. If the balance of provincial needs and resources is given importance in federal policies, national confidence can be restored in the country.
The President’s speech is also important in the context of Sindh, because social problems have increased in Sindh due to the unfair distribution of water, environment and resources. It is a challenge for the federation to practically recognize the rights of all provinces, including Sindh. President Zardari’s address at the global level is also reflecting Pakistan’s new diplomatic thinking. He took a clear stand on climate change, water politics, and violations of the “Indus Waters Treaty”, sending a message to the world that Pakistan will not compromise on its resources and rights. At the same time, the demand for the implementation of the UN resolution on Palestine and Kashmir further strengthens Pakistan’s moral and principled position. What is needed now is for such intellectual discourse to be transformed into national action. Investing in human resources, training youth, and giving practical shape to social justice policies can only become the real foundation for restoring national and global trust.Suggestions and necessary measures The federal and provincial governments should jointly reorganize social policies on “human centricity”. Equal resources should be provided in the sectors of water, education, and health in Sindh and other provinces. “National Internship Program” for youth should be made permanent and transparent. In its relations with international organizations, Pakistan should maintain a clear and independent position regarding its resources and rights. Pakistan will have to step forward and play the role of principled diplomatic leadership on the issues of Palestine and Kashmir. For this, in order to implement the words spoken in the speech of President Asif Ali Zardari, the government will have to trust and rely on the institutions working for global social development and world leaders wherever it has to work. The government should also lay the foundations of the country’s social development on the path of sustainable development. Otherwise, considering and considering relief from financial debts from international organizations should be part of this social development agenda. The social development roadmap that Mr. President Zardari has given in his speech at the World Social Development Conference is also no less than any national and international background. In the current situation that Pakistan is going through, the address of national and public leaders is also similar to what Mr. President Zardari presented in his speech.
