Naseerabad: The Irrigation Department Balochistan has achieved a major milestone under the Green Naseerabad Vision, successfully irrigating the entire designed command area of the Kirthar Canal for the first time — a development expected to significantly boost regional agricultural productivity.
During his visit to the canal, Superintending Engineer Irrigation Circle Naseerabad Ghulam Sarwar Bangulzai expressed satisfaction over the department’s performance, emphasizing that all ongoing projects must be completed on time and in accordance with quality standards to ensure long-term irrigation efficiency and sustainable crop yields.
Executive Engineer Kirthar Canal Ghulam Mustafa Chandio briefed the SE on water distribution during the Rabi season, crop production, and field challenges. The SE inspected Dom, Khanpur, Faizabad, Noorpur, Gandakha, and Bagh head regulators, reviewing the progress and quality of work on-site.
Bangulzai issued strict directions to Executive Engineer Chandio, Saifullah Bangulzai, and Riaz Ahmed Abid Siyal to complete all schemes promptly and in line with departmental standards to further strengthen the canal’s operational capacity.
He noted with satisfaction that the entire command area of Kirthar Canal has been successfully irrigated for the first time, which reflects the engineers’ dedication and effective coordination. He said officers who perform their duties with integrity and professionalism are the real asset of the department.
Highlighting the importance of continuity, the SE called for the same commitment during the Rabi season as displayed in the Kharif season to ensure a bumper crop. He reiterated that despite difficult circumstances, the Naseerabad Irrigation Division has proven its ability to deliver results through teamwork and technical excellence.
Bangulzai also inspected the Kirthar Canal offices, residences, and rest house, instructing that renovation and maintenance be prioritized. He directed the Executive Engineer to formally communicate with higher authorities for the release of necessary funds to resolve office and residential infrastructure issues.
He made it clear that officers or staff found negligent in duty will face strict departmental action, adding that discipline, sincerity, and quality execution are key to maintaining the department’s credibility and performance.
