Toba Tek Singh, 9 November 2025:
The International Human Rights Movement has issued an urgent call for a coordinated global intervention in Sudan’s Darfur region, warning of escalating atrocities and citing evidence of widespread war crimes and human rights violations that indicate all the warning signs of genocide.

Following the capture of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, by the Rapid Support Forces, reports indicate serious breaches of international humanitarian law, including systematic attacks on civilians, mass killings, extrajudicial executions, and widespread sexual violence, plunging the region into further chaos.

Thousands of displaced families are living in dire conditions around Tawila, lacking sufficient food, clean water, shelter, and medical care. The organization has demanded immediate and unhindered humanitarian access to deliver essential aid to those affected.

The International Human Rights Movement welcomed the initiation of evidence collection by the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding the alleged crimes. While stressing that formal determination of genocide rests with authorized legal bodies, the movement noted that all risk factors for genocide are clearly present. It urged all parties to fully cooperate with investigative authorities to ensure accountability.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, Rana Basharat Ali Khan described the situation as a “failure of the global conscience,” adding:

> “We cannot remain spectators as ethnically motivated violence and massacres increase daily. The world must move beyond expressions of concern and exert political and diplomatic pressure to enforce an immediate ceasefire, protect civilians, and ensure full cooperation with international judicial bodies.”
