ANF Arrests Eight Including Five Women, Seizes Drugs Worth Over PKR 83.7 Million in Nationwide Crackdown

ISLAMABAD, Oct 29:
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking, conducting eight successful operations across various parts of the country. During these operations, eight suspects — including five women — were arrested, and 97.165 kilograms of narcotics were seized, valued at more than PKR 83.7 million.

Major Seizures at International Airports
According to the ANF spokesperson, several key operations were conducted at international airports to foil attempts at smuggling narcotics abroad.
At Allama Iqbal International Airport, officials recovered 19 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) soaked in clothing from the luggage of two passengers, including one woman, who were traveling to Jeddah.
In another significant seizure at the same airport, 1.6 kilograms of ice were recovered from the shoes of three passengers bound for Jeddah. Two women and one man were arrested.
Similarly, at Islamabad International Airport, ANF personnel intercepted a parcel bound for the United Kingdom and discovered 64.565 kilograms of heroin concealed within ladies’ clothing. The suspect associated with the parcel was immediately taken into custody.

Domestic Interdiction Operations
The ANF also expanded its domestic operations, targeting intercity routes and courier services used for drug transportation.
Near Kala Bagh Railway Station, officials seized 6 kilograms of hashish from the luggage of a female passenger.
At a courier office on Ring Road, Peshawar, 1.2 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a parcel destined for Karachi.
In Karachi, 3.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a female passenger, while on Bhakkar Road in Dera Ismail Khan, ANF personnel intercepted a motorcycle and seized 1.2 kilograms of hashish.

Legal Action Under CNSA 1997
All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network of traffickers linked to these incidents.
