Crime Update – Mirpurkhas | 12th November 2025
Mirpurkhas, November 12, 2025: Mirpurkhas police have apprehended Zahid Khaskheli, the prime suspect in the brutal murder of minor Amna, daughter of Ghulam Haider. According to police, the accused has confessed to strangling the girl with a drip tube and disposing of her body in the Jamrao Canal.
Amna’s father had lodged a missing person report on November 4, 2025, after she disappeared. The investigation took a decisive turn when her body was recovered from Dubka Canal on November 9, 2025. Initial medical reports confirmed the cause of death as strangulation.
Under the directions of SSP Mirpurkhas Dr. Sameer Noor Channa, a special investigation team was formed. Investigators revealed that Amna was abducted during school hours by the accused, who works as a barber, and had attempted to lure her with gifts.
A breakthrough came on November 12, 2025, when the suspect was arrested near Goth Mubeen Khaskheli. During interrogation, Zahid Khaskheli admitted to both the kidnapping and murder. He also disclosed that he attempted to sexually assault Amna, and the murder occurred after she resisted. The accused initially tried to mislead the victim’s father and authorities but was ultimately apprehended.
Authorities have recovered the murder weapon, and the case is under further investigation.
