Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Appellate Court Holds Ceremony to Honor Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan on Second Tenure

The Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan organized an honorary ceremony to mark the appointment of Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan for his second tenure. The event was held at Serena Hotel, Gilgit, with the participation of Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, Chief Justice of the Chief Court Ali Baig, other Chief Court judges, Registrar Supreme Appellate Court Aqeel Hassan Chauhan, officers, and staff of the Supreme Appellate Court.
During the ceremony, Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Appellate Court administration for organizing the event. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the delivery of justice in Gilgit-Baltistan and said, “I am deeply grateful for this second opportunity, and I will dedicate myself to strengthening the judicial infrastructure in Gilgit-Baltistan with sincerity.” He also assured that the legitimate demands of the Supreme Appellate Court employees would be addressed and praised the administration’s support in facilitating the court’s work.
Registrar Aqeel Hassan Chauhan, speaking at the event, highlighted the Chief Justice’s principled leadership, legal expertise, and experience as invaluable assets for the court. He expressed that the Supreme Appellate Court is fortunate to have Chief Justice Shamim Khan serve another term and conveyed his personal honor in working alongside him.
Court officials and staff also shared their appreciation for the Chief Justice’s performance, noting that years of delayed upgrades and time-scale adjustments for staff have been addressed under his merit-based leadership, reflecting his commitment to fairness and justice. They lauded his initiatives to bring innovation to judicial processes and extended best wishes for his continued professional endeavors.
