BARKHAN, November 22, 2025 — The Barkhan district administration on Saturday strongly refuted social media allegations regarding alleged land encroachment on a government rest house property in Rakhni, terming the reports misleading, baseless, and contrary to factual records.
According to the administration, the residential quarter referenced online is an official irrigation department housing unit, allotted in 1992 to employee Parvez, a department sweeper, under due process. Minor maintenance work carried out recently was misinterpreted and sensationalized online. Officials clarified that upon the employee’s retirement, the quarter will be re-allotted according to government rules.
The district administration further dismissed propaganda about alleged illegal occupation of state land, asserting that it follows a strict zero-tolerance policy against encroachments. Revenue teams immediately act upon any credible report of unauthorized construction, ensuring state property remains protected.
The administration urged journalists, community representatives, and social media users to verify information from relevant departments before publishing or circulating it, in order to prevent misinformation and unnecessary public confusion.
