Islamabad: A grand Qur’an Memorization Competition was held at Jamia Salfia Islamabad, organized under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Religious Affairs in collaboration with Jamia Salfia. Students from multiple hifz institutions across Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated, showcasing their dedication and mastery of the Holy Qur’an.
The closing ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Sheikh Mutib bin Muhammad Al-Judaie, Director of Religious Affairs at the Saudi Embassy, Dr. Fahd bin Faraj Al-Juhani and Dr. Adel Al-Subaie from Imam University Riyadh, along with Rector Jamia Salfia Hafiz Sheikh Muhammad Shafiq, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Allama Ibrahim Khalil Al-Fazli, and prominent scholars and dignitaries from Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Cash prizes were awarded to students who secured top positions, and all participants received certificates and awards in recognition of their efforts and dedication.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki highlighted the deep-rooted and enduring ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, describing Pakistan as a “close, brotherly, and trusted partner.” He emphasized that the bilateral relationship goes beyond diplomacy, being anchored in shared faith, history, and cultural values. The Ambassador noted that cooperation in recent years has expanded across economic investment, security, and people-to-people engagement.
He added that under the directives of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia is enhancing investment, development assistance, and public welfare initiatives in Pakistan, prioritizing economic stability, youth development, and religious as well as cultural programs. The Ambassador described the Qur’an Memorization Competition as a reflection of the strong and enduring friendship between the two nations, affirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Pakistan across all fields and passing these relations on to future generations.
Rector Jamia Salfia Hafiz Sheikh Muhammad Shafiq expressed gratitude to Ambassador Al-Malki and the Government of Saudi Arabia, noting that such initiatives foster stronger ties and cultural exchange, bringing the people of both countries closer together and reinforcing bilateral cooperation.
