Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil Appointed Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting

Islamabad, 24 November 2025: Following approval from Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, senior official Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil has been appointed as the Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting.

Khalil, who previously served as Additional Secretary at the Ministry, has held pivotal roles in PID Peshawar, Pakistan’s Embassy in Tokyo, PEMRA, the Information Service Academy, and the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications.

The Ministry of Information stated that his appointment ensures continuity in administrative and policy matters while strengthening government communication efforts across the country.
