Gilgit, Nov 24: A formal farewell ceremony was organized by the Excise and Taxation, Zakat & Ushr, Cooperative, Narcotics Control, and Transport departments to honor Provincial Minister Haji Rehmat Khaliq. Numerous officers and staff from various departments attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Khaliq thanked the department staff, describing his tenure as enjoyable and rewarding. He praised the team’s hard work, professionalism, and teamwork, which enabled the successful completion of several key projects. He vowed to continue serving the public and contributing to social welfare.
Secretary Rahman Shah highlighted that under Minister Khaliq, significant initiatives were approved, including advances in narcotics control. The Hotel Bed Levy Act was also passed by the cabinet and implementation is underway. Additionally, the Transport Department established a claims tribunal for the first time, distributing over PKR 6 million to families of traffic accident victims.
The ceremony concluded with participants expressing best wishes to Minister Khaliq, and he was presented with commemorative gifts and shields by the Secretary and senior officers.
