Naqeebullah Kakar Takes Charge as Deputy Commissioner Gwadar

GWADAR, Nov 25, — Naqeebullah Kakar has officially assumed office as the new Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar, following his appointment by the Balochistan government. The formal ceremony took place on Monday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where senior officials extended a warm welcome and expressed confidence in his leadership to further strengthen governance and service delivery across the district.

A reception was organized in his honor alongside a farewell ceremony for outgoing Deputy Commissioner Hamood-ur-Rehman. The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Boheer Dashti, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Abdul Shakoor, Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars, and other senior district officials. Officials congratulated DC Kakar, highlighting expectations for enhanced administrative efficiency and the continuation of ongoing development projects.

Outgoing DC Hamood-ur-Rehman was lauded for his significant contributions to district administration and community welfare. During his tenure, he spearheaded initiatives such as the Zahoor Shah Hashmi Digital Library, a landmark community-driven project aimed at expanding digital access and educational opportunities for Gwadar’s youth.

In his final week in office, Hamood-ur-Rehman also launched the Shaheed Zakir Baloch Scholarship Program to support meritorious students from low-income families, including orphans and differently-abled students, pursuing higher education. The first phase of the program selected 30–32 students and marks the first such initiative from Gwadar, with plans for future expansion across Balochistan.

DC Kakar inherits a district poised for further growth and development, with expectations to continue strengthening governance, advancing community initiatives, and fostering opportunities for youth empowerment.
